Resumen: | A survey of the unity and theological message of Isaiah 13-23 Everything in the Old Testament canon has theological value. Sometimes the message is obvious while in other cases the full message is still to be discovered. Oracles against foreign nations as a separate genre have not received much attention from researchers. This article surveys the collection of oracles against foreign nations in Isaiah 13-23. The most interesting conclusions reached are, firstly, that Isaiah 13-23 was composed as a unit and, secondly, that the oracles have lost their original meaning and now carry a new theological message. |
