Con- as a prefix is a contraction of the preposition cum, and we can find it in some words used in military matters, especially contirones, contubernales, commanipulares, and commilitones, this last being the most frequent. It proves that strong interdependences existed between soldiers, in every moment of their military life and career. Conueterani are known by nine inscriptions and two texts of law. It means: «companions and veterans». Le préfixe con- est la contraction de la préposition cum, et il se retrouve dans plusieurs termes du vocabulaire militaire latin, comme contirones, contubernales, commanipulares et, le plus connu, commilitones. Il exprime la solidarité entre les hommes à différents stades de leur carrière militaire. Les conueterani sont présents dans neuf inscriptions et deux textes de lois.
