PDF Partiendo de que las patologías psiquiátricas son comunes en Ecuador, y de que se relacionan con el suicidio se buscó determinar los factores que influyen en el deseo y determinación de suicidarse, por lo que se estudiaron, en una muestra de 280 pacientes del Instituto de Neurociencias que acudían por primera vez con diagnóstico de trastorno psicótico (Esquizofrenia o Trastorno Psicótico Agudo) y que presentaban ideas o conductas suicidas, los factores predisponentes y desencadenantes que influían en ellos para tomar esa decisión. Los factores predisponentes estudiados fueron el ambiente familiar y social, el desempleo y los antecedentes de suicidio personales y familiares, y los factores desencadenantes estudiados fueron síntomas propios de la psicosis, además de otras variables: el divorcio, el consumo de tóxicos y el incumplimiento terapéutico; que fueron valoradas a través de las historias clínicas de los pacientes de la muestra. Se tabularon también factores sociodemográficos como edad, sexo y estado civil. Además de los métodos empleados para el intento suicida. De todo esto se obtuvieron resultados concluyentes acerca de los factores más comunes, de los predisponentes los de mayor porcentaje fueron falta de soporte familiar 40% y aislamiento social 33%; de los desencadenantes fueron síntomas depresivos 52% y alucinaciones auditivas (voces comando) 23%; las otras variables estudiadas determinan el perfil del paciente psicótico suicida joven 45%, sexo masculino 56% y soltero 76%. De los métodos suicidas los más comunes fueron consumo de fármacos especialmente somníferos 42% y ahorcamiento 40%. Based on that psychiatric diseases are common in Ecuador, and are frequently related with suicide it’s necessary determinate which are the factors that influence this desire and determination to kill themselves, that’s why were studied, in a sample of 280 patients at the Institute of Neuroscience who went there for the first time and which were diagnosed with a psychotic disorder (schizophrenia or acute psychotic disorder) who presented suicide ideas or behaviors, the predisposing and precipitating factors that influenced them to take this decision. Predisposing factors studied were the family and social environment, unemployment as economic factor and a personal and family history of suicide, and the precipitating factors studied were the pathology psychotic symptoms, in addition to other variables such as divorce, the consumption of toxic and non-compliance therapeutic; all which were evaluated through the medical histories of patients in the sample. Socio-demographic factors were also tabulated, as age, sex and marital status. In addition to a study on the methods used to carry out the suicide attempt. Conclusive results about the most common factors were obtained from all this, being the predisposing the highest percentage was lack of support family 40% and 33% social isolation; of the precipitating factors the higher percentage was 52% depressive symptoms and auditory hallucinations (voices command) 23%; the other variables studied determine the profile of the patient psychotic suicide young 45%, male 56% and 76% unmarried male.
