Motherhood is a stage characterized by multiple responsibilities, and those women who decide to pursue higher education face the fulfillment of these two roles, which can overload them, risking their well-being and quality of life. Therefore, the general objective of this research was to describe the profile of quality of life and well-being of the psychology students at the University of Cuenca, while the specific ones focused on determining the domains and factors most valued and defining the profile of both variables according to sociodemographic characteristics. The study was a descriptive type of cross-section, for it, we worked with 52 university mothers, to whom the PERMA profile (Lima, Peña, Cedillo and Cabrera, 2017) and the WHOQOL-BREF scale (WHOQOL Group, 1996) were applied. The data were processed with measures of central tendency and dispersion of data, as well as with non-parametric tests: U-Mann Withneey, H-Kruskal Wallis and Spearman Rho. The results indicate that, in general, the well-being and the quality of life of the university mothers are high, being superior in those that belonged to extended families; furthermore, there is a greater sense of loneliness in women without a partner and higher levels of general well-being in which they perform extra activities. The study concludes that belonging to broad support networks is related to high levels of well-being and quality of life in university mothers. Psicóloga Clínica Cuenca |
