The present investigation allowed to know new concepts about this topic, also about the importance that this type of pathology has in our environment. Hemiplegia is a motor disorder, where half the body is paralyzed. Generally this problem is the result of a cerebrovascular accident, but it can also be caused by pathologies in the cerebral hemispheres or in the spine. Depending on the part of the brain that is affected, the lesions cancel the movement and sensitivity of the opposite half of the body. Depending on the affected cerebral hemisphere, in addition to paralysis, other functions are diminished, such as hearing, vision, speech and also the capacity for reasoning. There are many institutions that work in our country and thus we have as the SOCIAL SECURITY HOSPITAL, SERLI, also in such gerontological centers; SAN JOSÉ center, CECILIA RATTINNOFF, among others, which, in spite of giving them their attention, do not achieve great results in their patients, since they do not have the proper intervention of OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY since their intervention is fundamental for the patient can reach the maximum level of independence. Therefore it is necessary that all institutions open the doors to internships to future OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS in order to promote a good education and fill them with the necessary experience for a good performance in their professional life. The present investigation was carried out with the bibliographic, electronic and documentary support for the argumentation and investigative sustainability, with the help of the scientific reading, inductive, deductive method and thus to determine the logical sequence of the investigative work.
