The Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum on Divine Revelation, which is one of the most important documents of the Second Vatican Council, was promulgated in November 1965. The fifth chapter dedicated to the New Testament presents one of the central themes of the entire document: the historicity of the Gospels (n. 19). The complex structure of the four numbers that constitute this chapter (nn. 17-20) can be better understood by means of a study of its redactional iter, beginning from the proposed draft at the opening of the Council up to the approved text, which underwent three intermediary drafts. Fifty years after the promulgation of Dei Verbum, a reconsideration of the conciliar works can help us to examine the level of comprehension of this document in the light of the perspectives introduced by the Council and the tasks that are still pending. En noviembre de 1965 fue promulgada la Constitución dogmática Dei Verbum, sobre la divina Revelación, uno de los documentos más logrados del Concilio Vaticano II. El capítulo quinto, dedicado al Nuevo Testamento, abordó, entre otras cuestiones, uno de los temas nucleares de todo el documento: la historicidad de los Evangelios (n. 19). La compleja arquitectura de los cuatro números que componen dicho capítulo quinto (nn. 17-20) puede comprenderse mucho mejor cuando se estudia su iter redaccional, que va desde el Esquema propuesto al comenzar el Concilio, hasta el texto finalmente aprobado, pasando por tres Esquemas intermedios. Cincuenta años después de la Dei Verbum, un repaso de los trabajos de entonces puede ayudarnos a captar mejor hasta qué punto se ha avanzado en las perspectivas abiertas entonces, y cuáles son las tareas aún pendientes. |
