If we think that Naturalism represents the philosophy of natural science but precisely understood in the mechanistic way of Combinatorial Atomism—and there are good reasons for this belief—, then, as it seems unquestionable that conscious experience is not reducible to the physical-functional level, it would be necessary for us to acknowledge the cognitive limit for Naturalism (¿for human knowledge?). This resolution ought to lead us at last to the admission that the naturalistic worldview is not more than one between others (although very important for human life), or directly to Eliminativism, a result that would constitute, in turn, a true predicament. |
