Resumen: |
This paper analyzes the relation between art and beauty in modern times, starting from Goya's style of painting and the breach in aesthetic conceptions represented by his rendering of monstruous content in monstruous form. The text also reflects on the meaning for the painter of the fourteen works of art in the "black" series that covered the walls of two rooms in the "Quinta del Sordo" and on his intimate relationship to them as permanent author-spectator. The series of "black" paintings represents a point of no return in painting and a journey to the depths of human hell. |
