Resumen: |
In the present study, violence against women is analyzed from the transgenerational model and its implication in the construction of psychic processes. These are transmitted from the family of origin, and consist of ways of relating to the next generations. On the other hand, the analysis of support networks allows identifying the relationships that positively influence to break the circle of violence. A descriptive biographical study was carried out, framed in the qualitative method in which the information units were 75 women from the cities of Quito and Ambato. Through the descriptive analysis of the results of the Couple Support and Stereotypes Questionnaire, validated for Ecuador, it was obtained as a result that women who have been victims of violence present distant or absent relationships with the father, with a particular attachment to the mother. At the same time, violent models of couples are transmitted from generation to generation and their normalization is favored by the cultural context and gender stereotypes. Added to this is a prevalence of poor or fragile support networks. |
