El bruxismo es una parafunción que se encuentra frecuentemente en la población y ha sido estudiado desde hace muchos años, existiendo controversia con respecto al manejo y tratamiento convirtiéndose en un problema que debe resolverse adecuadamente en su control y pronóstico; motivando así al estudio de este caso, cuyo objetivo fundamental es evaluar la importancia del uso de una placa miorrelajante como medida de apoyo para el desgaste posterior por habito parafuncional. El resultado obtenido durante el transcurso del uso de la férula oclusal fue muy satisfactorio, el notorio alivio de la hipertonicidad muscular, además protección para el tratamiento restaurador con cerámicas realizado. Comprobando así que, el uso de la placa miorrelajante de forma cuidadosa y constante genera resultados favorables y positivos al tratamiento. En conclusión el uso de la placa miorrelajante en las diferentes etapas del tratamiento, logró rehabilitar al paciente, tanto estética como funcionalmente. Pero se deberá seguir realizando controles periódicos mensuales para evaluar el proceso y mejoramiento del paciente en cuanto al bruxismo que padece.

But it must continue to make monthly periodic checks to evaluate the process and improvement of the patient as the bruxism suffering from.
