In order to identify the prevalence of patients considered as neonates born at term with the diagnosis of neonatal jaundice in the General Guasmo Sur Hospital in 2017, the method was a retrospective study with a nonexperimental, cross-section and analytical type quantitative design. descriptive study performed in the patient population consisting of 34 term infants attended with the diagnosis of neonatal jaundice during 2017. The results showed that the average age at which neonatal jaundice was diagnosed was 9 days (+/- 0.8), of which 20, 58.8% were male and 41.2% were female. It is also determined that 38.2% of the diagnoses correspond to the physiological jaundice of the newborn, 20.5% corresponds to jaundice concomitant to a septic process, 8.8% corresponds to the incompatibility of the ABO RH group of mother and child, 5.8% for jaundice due to intolerance to breast milk and 26.4% for jaundice of undetermined cause.
