PDF El objetivo principal del presente trabajo investigativo fue caracterizar la presencia de la fatiga por compasión o desgaste por empatía en la comunidad animalista de la ciudad de Guayaquil a través del abordaje de voluntarios rescatistas que decidieron colaborar con el estudio propuesto satisfechos de notar que por primera vez se tomaba en consideración sus inquietudes y problemáticas. La perspectiva metodológica aplicada fue esencialmente cualitativa y de alcance descriptivo, considerando inicialmente a 10 voluntarios rescatistas de la comunidad animalista de Guayaquil de los cuales 5 aceptaron continuar con el estudio hasta su finalización; inicialmente se aplicó una entrevista estructurada que incluía preguntas encaminadas a obtener datos informativos básicos e indicios de la posible presencia de fatiga por compasión, posteriormente se aplicaron 4 test y 2 listas de verificación a los 5 voluntarios rescatistas que continuaron con el estudio para determinar la vulnerabilidad de los evaluados de contraer este síndrome, o si efectivamente estaban aquejados por el mismo y en qué medida, así como para establecer si contaban con los recursos personológicos esenciales para prevenir, afrontar y superar la Fatiga por Compasión. El estudio reveló que este síndrome tiene una importante incidencia entre la comunidad animalista como un mal silencioso que causa serio malestar psicológico en quienes lo padecen con implicaciones negativas tanto en el plano intrapersonal como interpersonal por lo que su atención es requerida con premura The main objective of this research was to characterize the presence of fatigue due to compassion or attrition for empathy in the animal community of the city of Guayaquil through the approach of volunteer rescuers who decided to collaborate with the proposed study satisfied to note that for the first time his concerns and problems were taken into consideration. The methodological perspective applied was essentially qualitative and descriptive in scope, initially considering 10 rescue volunteers from the animal community of Guayaquil, of whom 5 agreed to continue with the study until its completion; Initially, a structured interview was applied that included questions aimed at obtaining basic informative data and indications of the possible presence of compassion fatigue, later 4 tests and 2 checklists were applied to the 5 rescue volunteers who continued with the study to determine the vulnerability of those evaluated to get this syndrome, or if they were affected by it and to what extent, as well as to establish if they had the essential personological resources to prevent, face and overcome Compassion Fatigue. The study revealed that this syndrome has an important incidence among the animal community as a silent evil that causes serious psychological distress in those who suffer it with negative implications both intrapersonally and interpersonally so their attention is required with urgency |
