PDF El presente estudio se lleva a cabo en el hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo, institución de salud perteneciente al Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS). El cual Debido a la gran cantidad de afiliados no satisface la demanda de atención, en el presente trabajo analizamos la percepción de atención de calidad que tienen los pacientes que acuden a la Consulta Externa del servicio de Cirugía Plástica. Se plantea como objetivo general evaluar la calidad de atención en Consulta Externa de Cirugía Plástica, La metodología de este estudio es de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal, analítico, cualitativo, se realiza encuestas a los pacientes que acuden a este servicio teniendo como resultados más relevantes que el 40% se siente completamente insatisfechos con los tiempos de espera tanto para atención como para citas subsecuentes en contraste con el 53,3% que se mostró satisfecho con la información recibida y el 50% de satisfacción frente al trato cordial y educación del personal médico, paramédico y administrativo del servicio de Cirugía Plástica. En Conclusión los usuarios de la Unidad Técnica de Cirugía Plástica Reconstructiva se sienten satisfechos con aspectos socio cultural y educacional mientras que los componentes administrativos, según su propia apreciación, son deficientes. Es por esto que en el presente estudio se realiza la Propuesta de un plan de mejoras dirigido establecer guías para le derivación y referencia de pacientes basadas en la prioridad de atención según especialidades, ciclos de capacitación a personal de personal médico y de atención al afiliado de las unidades operativas de menor rango y la gestión de recursos para mejorar la infraestructura del área y contratar el talento humano necesario para afrontar el aumento de la demanda de atención This is a case study performed at the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo Hospital, which is a healthcare institution that belongs to the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS). Due to the large numbers of affiliates, this institute has been constantly failing to satisfy the medical attention demand. This paper analyses the perception of the quality of attention that patients receive in the out-patient service of the Plastic Surgery area. The General Objective is to evaluate the quality of attention given in the out-patient service of Plastic Surgery. The methodology used in this case study is cross-sectional (descriptive), analytic, qualitative, and interviews to patients that attend to this service. The most relevant results of the interviews show that 40% of patients are completely unsatisfied with the long waiting time for subsequent appointments. On the other hand, 53.3% of the patients were satisfied with the information received from the service and 50% were satisfied with the polite and friendly assistance of the personnel (medic, paramedics and administrative of the service of Plastic Surgery). In conclusion, the users of the Technical Unit of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery are satisfied with the sociocultural and politeness aspects of the services, although they qualify the administrative components are deficient. That is the background of the objective of this paper, which aims to propose a plan of improvements by designing guides for patient referrals based on priority of attention depending of the specialties, training cycles for medical personnel, for customer service personnel of the operative units of lower rank and training for the improvement of the management of resources to improve the infrastructure of the area and hire the human resources necessary to cope with the increasing demand of medical services Universidad de Guayaquil.
