It is understood by periodontal injuries, some types of affections that involve damage to the integrity of vital tissues such as the pulp of the tooth and the periodontium that lodges or surrounds the tooth, having or citing apical periodontitis as an example of greater incidence, to cysts and granulomas. All these have in common the characteristic of being of infectious origin. Periodontal problems that occur at the periapical level are of various origins. When evaluating an already performed endodontics, the symptoms are referred by our patient or the radiographic signs that are presented, those that indicate a clue or lead a guideline for begin to evaluate and deduce what pathology we are going to face. It is thus, that knowing which pathological lesion is the one that is affecting the health of a dental piece, one can proceed to treat it in an appropriate way and following the protocols established in the world of dentistry, with the only purpose that is sought at a periodontal level, which is the rehabilitation of the apical zone and the prevention of evolution of the pathology that in turn can trigger in the affection of neighboring teeth. In this investigative - documentary work, an intense field study is planned, in order not only to gather necessary information regarding the problem, but also to show the work done in its pre - operative, operative and post - treatment phase, as well as the monitoring and control of the evolution and progress of the rehabilitation of the affected periapical zone. |
