The objective of the present study is the construction of a pilot equipment for the primary treatment of wastewater from a textile industry, using a physical-chemical method to reduce turbidity and color. The pilot equipment was designed from a known flow rate and the optimal dosage of the chemicals was determined by means of the 6-pitcher test. Once the quantity of chemicals has been determined, the start-up is started in which the chemicals are added by means of dosers: aluminum sulfate, flocculant and sodium hypochlorite, which will give way to flocculation. With the help of the hydraulic mixer which provides a slow agitation applying decreasing speeds, to promote the growth of the flocs. From the experimentation in the pilot team, a functional plant of greater capacity was projected, it has a flow rate of 20 m3 /h. |
