PDF Objetivo: Determinar el perfil epidemiológico y el riesgo de mortalidad del cáncer de colon derecho en el área de gastroenterología del Hospital Docente de Especialidades Guayaquil, “Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón” en el año 2016. Metodología: Descriptiva, cuantitativo. Diseño de la investigación: No experimental, prospectivo, indirecto. Resultados: De los casos de cáncer de colon diagnosticados en el Hospital Docente de Especialidades Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón 17 pacientes (46%) son de sexo masculino; mientras que 20 pacientes (54%) son de sexo femenino, 6 casos (16%) tenían una edad entre los 31 a 39 años; 11 casos (30%) tenían una edad entre los 40 a 49 años; 8 casos (22%) tenían una edad entre los 50 a 59 años; 12 casos (32%) tenían más de 60 años de edad. De todos ellos permanecieron: de 44 a 60 días 2 pacientes que corresponde al 5%. 28 De estos pacientes tenían una dieta rica en carnes que corresponde al 45%, 28 pacientes tenían una dieta rica en grasas que corresponde al 43% y 8 pacientes tenían una dieta rica en fibra que corresponde al 12% 11 pacientes que corresponde al 16% consumían más alcohol y 26 pacientes que corresponde al 84% consumían más tabaco, 24 pacientes que corresponde al 65% presentan diabetes, 13 pacientes que corresponde al 35% no presentaron APP. 30 pacientes presentaron obstrucción intestinal que corresponde al 17%, 28 presentaron hemorragia digestiva alta que corresponde al 16%, 16 pacientes presentaron hemorragia digestiva baja que corresponde al 9%, 28 pacientes presentaron melena que corresponde al 16%, 37 pacientes presentaron nauseas que corresponden al 21% y 37 pacientes presentaron vómitos que corresponden al 21%. Objective: To determine the epidemiological profile and mortality risk of right colon cancer in the gastroenterology area of the Guayaquil Specialty Teaching Hospital, "Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón "in the year 2016. Of the patients diagnosed with right colon cancer at the Dr. Abel Gilbert Pontón Specialty Teaching Hospital 11 patients corresponding to 16% consumed more alcohol and 26 patients corresponding to 84% consumed more tobacco. Of the patients diagnosed with right colon cancer at the Abel Gilbert Pontón Specialty Teaching Hospital, 24 patients corresponding to 65% had diabetes, 13 patients corresponding to 35% did not present with APP. Of the patients diagnosed with right colon cancer at the Hospital Abel Gilbert Pontón Specialty Hospital 30 patients presented intestinal obstruction corresponding to 17%, 28 presented high digestive hemorrhage corresponding to 16%, 16 patients presented low corresponding digestive hemorrhage to 9%, 28 patients presented melena corresponding to 16%, 37 patients presented nausea corresponding to 21% and 37 patients presented vomiting corresponding to 21%.
