PDF INTRODUCCIÓN: El estado nutricional materno desempeña un papel importante sobre el producto de la concepción. La malnutrición materna incluye tanto el bajo peso, sobrepeso y la obesidad. El IMC (peso/talla2) ha sido recomendado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud como un indicador básico para evaluar el estado nutricional durante la gestación. OBJETIVO: Diagnosticar el estado nutricional de las gestantes al inicio y final del embarazo atendidas en la la Maternidad de Babahoyo Fundacion Antonio Basterrechea Irusta en el periodo junio 2014 a mayo 2015. Determinar y clasificar el peso del recién nacido a termino ademas de relacionar el estado nutricional de la madre con el peso del recién nacido a termino. MÉTODOS Y MATERIALES: Se realizo un estudio observacional, analitico de corte transversal para cumplir con los objetivos de estudio. Se estudio una poblacion de 810 mujeres embarazadas de las cuales la muestra estuvo definida por 123 historias clinicas de pacientes gestantes atendidas en la Maternidad de Babahoyo Fundacion Antonio Basterrechea Irusta desde junio del 2014 a mayo del 2015. Las variable analizadas fueron; como variablde materna, el estado nutricional de la gestante y como variable neonatal el peso del recien nacido a termino. RESULTADOS: Al inicio del embarazo las gestantes presentaron un IMC bajo en un 9.76%, el 47.97 % un IMC normal, el 17.89% sobrepeso, y el 24.39% obesidad. Al final de la gestación el 12.19% presentaron un IMC bajo, el 29.26% normal, el 23.57% sobrepeso, y el 34.95% obesidad, pudiendose observar que el porcentaje de mujeres con IMC normal se redujo al final de la gestación en un 18. 7 % existiendo un incremento de mujeres con obesidad en un 10.57 %, con sobrepeso en un 5.70% y en un 2.43% para las de bajo peso. Se determinó que el 26.01 % obtuvo una ganancia adecuada de peso, el 30.9 % una ganancia menor, y el 43.08% una ganancia mayor. El 30.9 % de las mujeres con obesidad tuvieron una mayor ganancia de peso que la recomendada y el 4.08% tuvo una adecuada ganancia. El 9.75% de las mujeres con sobrepeso tuvo una mayor ganancia de peso, el 10.56% adecuada y el 3.25% menor. El 82.92 % de los niños fueron de peso AEG, el 8.94% GEG y el 8.13% PEG. CONCLUSIONES: El estado nutricional de la gestante se relaciona con el peso del recien nacido a termino. OBJECTIVE: To diagnose the nutritional status of pregnant women at the beginning and end of pregnancy treated at the Maternity Babahoyo Basterrechea Fundacion Antonio Irusta in the period June 2014 to May 2015. To determine and classify the weight of term newborn addition to relate the state nutritional mother with birth weight at term. METHODS AND MATERIALS: an observational, analytical cross section to meet the objectives of study. a population of 810 pregnant women in which the sample was defined by 123 medical records of pregnant patients treated at the Maternity Babahoyo Basterrechea Fundation Antonio Basterrechea Irusta from June 2014 to May 2015. Variable analyzed were was studied; native variablde, the nutritional status of the mother and as a neonatal variable, the weight of term newborn. RESULTS: At the beginning of pregnancy pregnant women had a BMI under a 9.76%, 47.97% the normal BMI, overweight 17.89%, 24.39% and obesity. At the end of the gestation 12.19% had a BMI under the 29.26% average, 23.57% overweight, and 34.95% were obese, being able to observe that the percentage of women with normal BMI was reduced at the end of pregnancy by 18. 7% having an increase in women with obesity in a 10.57% overweight in a 5.70% and 2.43% for underweight. It was determined that 26.01% obtained adequate weight gain, 30.9% lower gain, and 43.08% greater profit. 30.9% of women with obesity had a higher weight gain than recommended and 4.08% had adequate profit. 9.75% of overweight women had a higher weight gain, 10.56% and 3.25% adequate lower. The 82.92% of the children were weight AEG, the 8.94% 8.13% GEG and PEG. CONCLUSIONS: The nutritional status of the mother is related to the weight of term newborn. Universidad de Guayaquil.
