La diabetes mellitus es una enfermedad sistémica relevante y constituye un problema de salud mundial no solo por la agresividad sino por las consecuencias que produce en toda la economía humana y en nuestro caso, en la cavidad oral; el objetivo del presente trabajo fue Recuperar el correcto funcionamiento del aparato masticatorio del paciente diabético mediante del uso de prótesis parcial removible metálica, para lo cual se trató un paciente de la tercera edad que requirió solucionar su problema de edentulismo parcial. Los resultados obtenidos fueron altamente satisfactorios tanto en lo funcional como en lo estético. Se concluyó que las prótesis parciales removibles metálicas son el mejor tipo de tratamiento en estos casos por no ser invasivas y facilitar el estado de higiene bucal del paciente.
Diabetes mellitus is a relevant systemic disease and is a global health problem not only aggression but by the consequences it has on the whole human economy and in our case, in the oral cavity; the objective of this work was to recover the proper functioning of the masticatory apparatus diabetic patient by the use of metal removable partial denture, for which an elderly patient requiring solve your problem partially edentulous treated. The results were highly satisfactory both functionally and aesthetically. It was concluded that the metal removable partial dentures are the best type of treatment in these cases because it is not invasive and facilitate oral hygiene status of the patient.
