PDF La caries dental es una enfermedad multifactorial y que ningún ser humano está exento de presentarla, el siguiente proyecto está enfocado en este tema que es de consideración epidemiológica, afectando a la población escolar, se realizará el estudio en 2 escuelas de Galápagos Isla Santa Cruz Mixta Oswaldo Guayasamín y Caupolicán Marín en mayo 2018 y julio 2019 Objetivo: Estudiar la incidencia de caries dental en dientes temporarios mediante ICDAS Metodología: El diseño de investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo y longitudinal, se aplicaron criterios de inclusión y exclusión obteniendo una muestra de 239 alumnos de las dos instituciones de Galápagos, Isla Santa Cruz. Resultados: El estudio nos indica que el código ICDAS 2 es el más frecuente en el estudio de mayo 2018 y julio 2019, la pieza dentaria que se encuentra más afectada por caries es el segundo molar, existe una disminución de caries dental en de mayo 2018; con 870 dientes afectados que fue el primer examen clínico en relación con julio 2019: 665 dientes afectados. Conclusiones: En la población escolar mediante el sistema ICDAS aplicado en el mes de mayo 2018 y julio 2019, identificamos la severidad de las lesiones cariosas concluyendo que existe en ambos periodos la presencia de caries iniciales, siendo la cara vestibular la más afectada en mayo 178 superficies y en julio 471 y la pieza dentaria más afectada fue el segundo molar y el sexo con un alto índice de caries es el femenino. The dental caries is a multifactorial disease and any human being exempt from having, this project is focus in this topic that is epidemiological consideration, that affect to the school population, it will be carried out in a study in two school of the Santa Cruz Galapagos Island, the two school are “Oswaldo Guayasamin” and “Caupolican Marin” in May 2018 and July 2019. Objective: Study the incidence of dental caries in temporary teeth using ICDAS Methodology: The design of the investigation is quantitative, descriptive and longitudinal type; we use a inclusion and exclusion criteria so we can obtaining a sample of 337 students from the two Galapagos institutions. Results: This investigation demonstrate that the ICDAS 2 code is the most frequently in the research study in May 2018 and July 2019, the tooth that is most affected by caries is the second molar. There is a decrease in dental caries in May 2018; with 870 affected teeth it was the first clinical examination in relation to July 2019: 665 affected teeth. Conclusions: In the school population through the ICDAS system applied in the month of May 2018 and July 2019, we identify the severity of carious lesions, so we conclude that exists the presence of initial caries in the two periods, the vestibular face being the most affected in May at 178 surfaces and in July 471, the most affected tooth was the second molar and the sixth with a high rate of caries is the female. |
