This research aims to determine the inflammatory processes in patients treated surgically for mandibular third molar pericoronitis is an acute infectious process characterized by inflammation of the soft tissue surrounding the impacted tooth . As the pericoronitis is generally associated with lower third molar , I feel the need to know the anatomical - embryological considerations of this . The pain caused by impaction of the third molar (which may also be the second molar) generates a series of symptoms, accompanied by severe symptoms such as pericoronitis , which if not treated in time will generate a much more serious condition that will alveolitis , with worse symptoms. All a study of panoramic radiographs pre and post surgical be the basis for determining the evolution of infections or inflammatory processes that occur. The X does not give us an accurate diagnosis of pericoronitis , since soft tissue glands not observed in this , but lets judge the situation and position of the tooth , the shape of his crown and roots and anatomical relationships. All this will determine the type of treatment . These radiographs were obtained from patients treated at the Pilot School of Dentistry in the area of ??oral surgery , the parallel 5/1, mostly women , with a mean age 22 years of age. Clinical evidence was also of great help through pre and post surgical pictures. It also mentions the issue of treatment with prophylactic antibiotic therapy or surgical post , playing an important role in the evolution of the soft and hard tissues . Many publications relate the close relationship between pericoronitis and serious complications such as Ludwig's angina , occurring to appreciate the gravity of the matter. |
