El megaproyecto multipropósito Trasvase Daule – Vinces se encuentra ubicado dentro de la Cuenca Baja del río Guayas, entre los ríos Daule y Babahoyo antes de su confluencia, cubriendo la zona baja del río Vinces desde la Ciudad del mismo nombre hasta el límite occidental del cantón Samborondón en la Puntilla. Es un proyecto con una visión de bienestar común y de fomento al cambio de la matriz productiva del país, en el que se busca la reducción de riesgos de inundaciones, además de incorporar un sistema de riego adecuado para todos los productores de los diez cantones beneficiados entre las provincias del Guayas y Los Ríos como son Balzar, Colimes, Palestina, Santa Lucia, Salitre, Daule, Samborondón, Babahoyo, Baba y Vinces; también es el de brindar un almacenamiento considerable de agua en la época de estiaje que sufre el Ecuador cada año. Entre los principales inconvenientes encontrados se ubica la poca importancia que les han dado a los agricultores en contar con un sistema propio de agua tanto para el abastecimiento como para el riego de sus cultivos o para el cuidado y crianza de sus animales. Otro de los puntos que se encontró en el proceso de investigación, es el desconocimiento del Trasvase DAUVIN dentro de la población estudiada, manifestando el poco interés de conocer las actividades que se están realizando en su sector y también de la escasa socialización por parte de las autoridades gubernamentales. Es necesario que se informe de los beneficios que implica la construcción y ejecución del presente proyecto, a razón que a finales del 2015 se tiene planificada su inauguración.
