PDF La halitosis es una alteración bucal asociado a la mala higiene y enfermedades dentales o sistémicas, afecta la autoestima debido al olor desagradable del aliento, lo que genera incomodidad al dialogar o socializar con su entorno. Se clasifica en halitosis genuina, pseudohalitosis y halitofobia, posee origen multifactorial, lo cual se debe conocer antes de establecer un tratamiento que dependerá del tipo de halitosis que presente el paciente. Los factores de la halitosis son de origen intrabucal, extrabucal y otros, siendo el factor intrabucal el que presenta el 90% de causas de la halitosis. El OBJETIVO de este trabajo es exponer los factores asociados y el enfoque terapéutico de la halitosis, el MÉTODO de investigación es de inducción – deducción porque nos basamos en análisis, síntesis y deducción para emitir conclusiones válidas particulares, método empírico basado en la técnica de revisión documental mediante una ficha de registro de datos. RESULTADOS, de acuerdo a la revisión bibliográfica, de 30 artículos de los últimos 5 años, se concluyó que el 33% de los factores de origen bocal se debe a la presencia de saburra lingual, el 27% a una mala higiene bucal, el 20% a la presencia de periodontitis, el 10% por caries y el 10% debido a gingivitis. CONCLUSIONES: Entre los factores de origen bucal, la saburra lingual y mala higiene presentaron mayor prevalencia, el uso diario de colutorios a base de clorhexidina y el correcto cepillado dental y lingual son favorables en el tratamiento porque disminuyen los CVS Halitosis is an oral disorder associated with poor hygiene and dental or systemic diseases, affects self-esteem due to the unpleasant smell of breath, which generates discomfort when talking or socializing with their environment. The factors of halitosis are of intraoral, extrabuccal and other origin, being the intrabucal factor the one that presents 90% of causes of halitosis. The OBJECTIVE of this work is to expose the associated factors and the therapeutic approach of halitosis, the METHOD of investigation is of induction - deduction because we rely on analysis, synthesis and deduction to issue particular valid conclusions, empirical method based on the technique of documentary review by means of a data record card. RESULTS, according to the bibliographic review, of 30 articles of the last 5 years, it was concluded that 33% of the factors of mouth origin are due to the presence of lingual saburra, 27% to a bad oral hygiene, 20% to the presence of periodontitis, 10% due to caries and 10% due to gingivitis. CONCLUSIONS: Among the factors of oral origin, tongue thrush and poor hygiene were more prevalent, the daily use of chlorhexidine-based mouthwashes and proper tooth and tongue brushing are favorable in the treatment because they decrease the CVS. |
