This degree work deals with: "Structural Design Resistive Steel Seismic and Spectral Modal Seismic Analysis of an 8-Level Building Located in the City of Guayaquil". The objective is to guarantee that this building, destined to be a hotel, is earthquake resistant and offers an adequate behavior according to the current norm NEC 2015. Through the use of the NEC-SE-DS 2015, the AISC 360 and AISC 341 regulations, the structural elements are designed in order to obtain the optimal metallic structural profiles to support the gravitational and seismic action loads. With the use of the ETABS 2016 software, the structure is modeled to determine the dynamic response of this building to an earthquake, determining among several aspects the dynamic fundamental period, the structure's vibration modes and the maximum lateral displacements. In addition, the elements are designed by flexion for the case of beams and flexo-compression in the case of the columns; besides checking both members by local buckling. The relation "Demand / Capacity" of the structural elements and the relation Strong Column - Weak Beam are also verified. This degree work is not aimed to focus or explore in depth the dynamic study of a structure or seismic engineering, but rather is focused on meeting the structural criteria, the seismic design philosophy in steel and current regulations. |
