Resumen: |
The aim of this paper is to present the first adaptation of Children's Depression Inventory-Short (CDI-S, Kovacs, 1992) for the Spanish population and to analyse its psychometric properties. The CDI-S has 10 of the items of the CDI, which are the most essential symptoms of children's depression. The sample for this investigation had 1615 subjects, 635 females and 980 males, with ages ranging from 9 to 15 years old. The results show that the psychometric characteristics of the test were good and parallel to those of the CDI of 27 items, thus its abbreviation does not affect the accuracy of the tool. AbstractThe aim of this paper is to present the first adaptation of Children's Depression Inventory-Short (CDI-S, Kovacs, 1992) for the Spanish population and to analyse its psychometric properties.
