Resumen:
|
Mathematics is one of the most important cultural goods of our civilization. Its presence is tangible in all the fields of human activity: from scientific activity to daily life. We are probably agreed on that. Once the importance of Mathematics is accepted it is unavoidable that teachers and students make an effort, the former to tech it, the latter to learn it. However, do our educational system and all the people involved in it give an effective response to this need? To begin with, there is no unanimity in questions such as What to teach? How to teach? What training should those who teach have?, etc. In this article, different aspects of Mathematics and its teaching are dealt with. (English version of the article: "Enseñar y aprender Matemáticas", published in the Revista de Educación del Ministerio de Educación).
