Introduction: In pediatric neuropsychological assessment, verbal fluency tests (VFT) are used due to its high sensitivity to cognitive damage. Most studies have reported sociodemographic variables associated with VFT total score, but the importance of verbal fluency strategies compared to sociodemographic variables have not been established. Objective: to examine the sociodemographic characteristics and verbal fluency strategies associated with VFT total score in a sample of healthy children from Colombia. Methods: 667 children participated in the study. 54% were girls, from public schools (50.1%), with an average age of 11.33±3.28 and parents’ mean education (PME) of 12.19±3.58 years.
