The analysis of the Latin language of the Cantabrian inscription, is a further contribution to know the state of Romanization in which this region was to be found in the 2nd to the 4th centuries. On the other hand it is also a proof to distinguish. within the natural Cantabrian region. which are the areas of greater Roman influence opposite to the more isolated ones: there are areas like Cildá, Peña Amaya and their surroundings, which show linguistic characteristics similar to those of the rest of the Peninsula, opposite to the uadinienses inscriptions which share more in the native-pre-Roman linguistic phenomena, that survive in the personal onomastic and in certain phonetic characteristics.
