Resumen: |
The semantic field of μάτη is connected with the idea of «being unable to do something according to the needs of the circumstances where the human being happens to act». Whereas in the Iliad μάτη is caused by something external to the human being, in the Odyssey it's a product of the man. Such an acceptation occurs in the post-homeric sources, in which μάτη is caused by the incapability to aet according to Φρένες. From this μάτη, meant as product of our mind, two more semantic acceptations branch off: a) μάτη meant as a guilt, b) μάτη as a vanity. No dispoinible |
